_CRUISING CODE ZERO CZ. (AMG 50% ASF)
The design of our CZ cruising Code Zero is derived from large racing drifters. The goal was to design a sail that would allow boat owners, who, ideally, would sail exclusively under sail, to shut off the engine as soon as possible. In fact, this sail gives the boat a speed that is absolutely comparable to its cruising speed under engine power already at 6–7 knots TWS. Obviously, compared to a true drifter, we’ve tried to expand this sail’s range of use as much as possible. As you can see, its sail chart is very long, and we use it from as early as 70° TWA with 6 knots of TWS, all the way up to 135° TWA with 18–20 knots of TWS. We use it with a braided or unidirectional anti-twist line, depending on the size of the boat. The Code Zero is constructed from laminated fabric with polyester or aramid X-ply, and its surface area is roughly double that of the jib. A UV strip can be applied to this sail so it can be left hoisted during the day or while cruising, prioritizing safety, ease of use, performance and fun.
_CRUISING GENNAKER
Our Cruising Gennakers are designed to offer the widest possible range of use.
They feature a design that’s easy to trim and handle, always with an eye toward performance. Although this is our basic gennaker, we make no compromises on the materials; in fact, the sails are still made from top-quality nylon with the utmost attention to aesthetic details, and there is a large range of colors.
These sails are sold as a set with a “Gennaker Sleeve,” a sleeve designed for lowering the sail.
To this day, the sleeve remains one of the safest and simplest methods for lowering the gennaker while cruising, even with a small crew, provided, of course, that the sleeve is of excellent quality. In such a simple system, it’s the small details that make all the difference. Over the years, we’ve worked with manufacturers to develop incredibly sturdy and functional sleeves that guarantee safety and ease of use.
