SUPER YACHTS: Major challenges
are in our DNA
and for the past twenty years we have been working aboard some of the world’s most iconic Maxi and SuperMaxi yachts. Over the last ten years, we have rigged a total of 97 boats ranging from 60’ to 143’ in length, establishing one of the most professional service organizations in the market with a team of top-tier sail experts.
Millenium Sails’ proprietary construction technologies are the best available in this sector, as tangibly demonstrated by the creation of the largest sail ever built and laminated in a single piece: a 448-square-meter ARXE Carbon GP light-medium jib produced for the Esense Wally 143. The sail was sold, designed, plotted, laminated, finished, and finally perfected on board by the Millenium team. Even the scale made our hearts race, revealing a final weight of just 197 kg when packed in its bag. We challenge any other technology to achieve these figures, adding that the sail has completed four years of racing in the Wally class without needing a single recut.
ARXE Ocean
With ARXE Ocean, we’ve sailed countless miles across every sea on our planet, refining over the years a product with a durability that’s hard to believe for boats of this size, both in terms of lamination and overall craftsmanship. To give an example, with the Southern Wind 100 “Mrs. Seven” owned by one of our loyal clients, we traveled 36,200 miles under sail over four seasons using an ARXE Ocean Carbon sail set. The total weight of the three sails, complete with battens and all the necessary rigging, was 420 kg, about 20% lighter than any other technology on the market offering comparable durability.
