In the winter of 2025–26, Millenium launched the Millenium Academy project. Millenium has a long tradition of training new professionals in the field of sailmaking, and with the launch of the academy, it aims to strengthen this commitment through a formal training and professional development program. During their time in the program, candidates are provided with housing in the guest quarters adjacent to the loft and are mentored by the most experienced sailmakers at the facility. The program consists of three main steps:

Integration. Trainees are trained in the entire production process to familiarize themselves with the materials and technologies. A thorough understanding of the production process is essential for integrating any prior sailmaking knowledge with the unique Millenium world, which is based on proprietary technologies.

Training in the loft. The trainee is constantly mentored by a sail expert and put to work in the various stages, including lamination, curing, and finishing in the sail-making workshop. Even an experienced sailmaker with no prior experience with monolithic sails, or composites in general, needs specific training to work with them, whether for modifications or repairs.

On-board training. Following all in-house production phases, trainees continue by consolidating their skills in installing sails on boats and fine-tuning and testing the new sails in flight.

The Millenium Academy has two main objectives: to identify new potential Sails Experts to add to our team and train new ones who can work with Millenium products at other sailmakers or lofts, thereby expanding the network of professionals aligned with the Millenium philosophy.
